Friends Forever

Our friends, Toby & Marci and their little girl Abby, visited this weekend. Cole and Abby had a great time playing and we had a great visit. It's so hard to be so far from our dearest friends and family, but this weekend will go a long way. We got some great pics of the kids I wanted to share.

Brothers love each other

Cole is doing so great as a big brother! He likes to help mommy and daddy with Connor and looks for "Ba-Bee" all the time! We were worried about jealously and how Cole would adjust to being one of two now, but other than moments here and there he is adjusting so well. He brings Connor his paci when he cries and helps hold the bottle sometimes. He alos loves all the baby toys coming out of the closets. You would think they were brand new, but these are all his from almost two years ago (wow, I can't believe he's going to be 2 in a few months). I know he is going to be a great big brother and will love it when Connor is a little bigger and able to play.

Connor was born on February 14, 2006 at 5:31 am. He was 8 lbs 6 oz and 20.5 in long. He's our little Valentine! I can't believe it's almost been a month and also that it's taken me this long to post this. It already feels like he has been a part of our family forever. He is a sweetie who loves to cuddle! In fact, he loves it so much, he doesn't like to sleep unless someone is holding him. So, mommy and daddy are very sleep deprived at this point, but we know this us just a phase and hope to see more sleep soon. He has already changed so much as you can tell from the pictures. Most people think he looks more like mommy and that's nice since Cole is definitely a daddy look alike.

Daddy put gel in Colie's hair. He thought it was so cool! He's such a little ham for the camera. Well, for our camera. Now when we took him to get pictures made, it was another story.

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated

With the holidays and everything, I just realized it's been quite awhile since I've posted anything here. I promise to download and post some new pictures this week. Everything is going well here. I am ready for Connor to come. It's about 5 weeks until my due date and we have another ultrasound this Friday so I'll be sure to update after that.

Cole is busy, busy, busy and growing like crazy! We had his 18 month checkup this past week and he's just about 29 lbs and 34 inches tall. That's puts him at about 90% on the growth charts so he's a big boy. His vocabulary is exploding and he's saying a new word just about everyday if not more. His favorite thing right now is to say all the animal sounds and point out everything when we drive around in the car. We think he's realizing something's about change around here, but he's not sure what. We talk to him about Connor, but he doesn't fully understand. However, he's been especially clingy with mommy for about 4 weeks now, so he's acting like he knows something. He thinks he's soooo big and has been "helping" daddy put together the crib and some other things around the house.

The holidays reminded us how far we are from everyone and we miss our friends and family more than ever. We looked back over this past year and realized this was a tough year with lots of transitions, but we look forward to this year and what God has in store.

Cole said "Jesus" yesterday

I know he's doesn't know the meaning of the name, but Cole said "Jesus" yesterday on our way to church and it melted my heart. One of his favorite songs is "Jesus Loves Me," and we were talking about it on the way to church and he said "Jesus." How exciting it's going to be to watch Cole as he learns about Jesus and His amazing love!
